King Family Vineyards

Summary:

At the end of veraison a block of Petit Verdot was “heavy” leaf pulled on both sides. The block of PV was divided in two sections, one section will get a “fruit zone” spray of Surround at the recommended rate. Spray was repeated as necessary to keep good coverage on the cluster; the other section was kept as control. Trial and control lots were harvested, processed, fermented, pressed, and racked identically but separately.

Lab Results:

There were no major chemical or phenolic differences between the wines in this study.

Sensory Results:

There was no significant sensory difference (p<0.05) between the Control (no Surround) and the Trial (Surround). No preference data was collected for this experiment.
